About

He didn't choose between the spiritual life and the worldly one.

He decided to make them the same thing.

Bio

The Bridgewalker

Ian Lopatin
Bridgewalker. Author. Speaker. Father. Student of the sacred.

Ian Lopatin is what happens when a lawyer becomes a yogi, a yogi becomes an entrepreneur, and an entrepreneur walks into an ashram in India and never fully comes back.

He has built and sold companies, co-founded Spiritual Gangster — a yoga-inspired lifestyle brand that became a movement — and spent decades studying what it actually takes to live from a place of presence, joy, and power. Not the performed version. The real one.

He's an author, a speaker, a father, a surfer, a student of the sacred, and a man who has been broken open enough times to know that breakdown and breakthrough are the same door — just entered from different sides.

The Journey

What Built Him

The Law Years

Ian graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned his law degree from UCLA. He became an entertainment attorney — sharp, successful, and quietly aware that something essential was missing. That awareness didn't send him into a crisis. It sent him into a yoga studio. And nothing was ever the same.

At One Yoga

He pioneered the concept of music-driven yoga — hip-hop yoga — when that idea was years ahead of its time. At One Yoga became a community, a culture, and eventually a company Life Time Fitness was interested in. He sold it. And kept building.

Spiritual Gangster

With his wife Vanessa, Ian co-founded Spiritual Gangster — a brand rooted in the belief that you can live a high-frequency life without leaving the modern world behind. The brand became an embodiment of exactly what Ian teaches: that joy, movement, and consciousness aren't a retreat from life. They're how you show up for it.

Of Course Sanctuary

Today, Ian leads Of Course Sanctuary — a curated community for people who have climbed the mountain of external success and are ready to go somewhere more real. The work inside Sanctuary is immersive, human, and calibrated to what high-achievers actually need: not more information, but a different frequency to operate from.

The Book

The Way of a Spiritual Gangster is the distillation of everything Ian has learned — through business, through loss, through recovery, through silence, through ceremony, and through the daily practice of choosing a Beautiful State over a Stress State. It is the book he needed when he was in the middle of all of it.

The Inner Life

What Drives the Work

Ian is active in recovery and has a deep daily meditation practice. He has studied with spiritual teachers at the EKAM ashram in India. He surfs, skis, plays golf, and takes his sons — Jedi and Jonah — to places that matter.

He talks about all of it. Not as credentials. As context. Because the work he does only makes sense if you understand that it was forged — not from theory, but from the actual experience of being human.

“My frequency creates my reality. Not my circumstances. Not my strategy. My frequency.”
